Here's my story
From a young age, i’ve found myself influenced into trying different diets and exercise plans… always one more extreme then the next (bc you always have to try harder right?!)
I remember getting ready to go to work one day, and realizing my clothes didn’t fit anymore (cue frustration cry).. It didn’t make sense! I was going to the gym and (doing what I thought) was eating healthy.
From there, I decided to hire a trainer. You might think this is where it all turns around, but this is where a different layer was added to the cake. I started to read fitness magazines (this was still in the MySpace era.. Social media was not what it is today) and seeing what fitness models did for their workouts & nutrition. And I wanted it too…
This led to me taking things to a whole other level of restriction, in order to compete in fitness competitions. This went on for years, the back and forth between dieting and extreme workouts, never being good enough to “get on stage”.
After going through years of this cycle of on and off again, trying different coaches, different diets, getting through injuries and eventually being diagnosed with Hashimotos, an autoimmune disease that affects your thyroid (and not in the way that makes it easy to lose weight)
I’m not sharing this so that you think I have some insane super power that can push through those types of restrictions & programs or for anyone to feel sorry for me. I’m sharing this because I know how much info out there is misleading, and how having a super restrictive program is not the best way to get the results & live the life you want.
When I finally switched gears to focus exercising to get stronger, learning proper technique and how to exercise to match the demand of our lifestyles, this is when the magic happened. Focusing on being a little bit better everyday was wayyy better than going all in and falling down so hard you can’t get back up again. I can’t wait to share these ways with you and coach you to success.
